Learning to Trust

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted on here. I'll just give a little update on my life to date. God's really been teaching me a lot at college. Lessons about trust, and giving everything over to Him. I'm also learning that I'm not the greatest thing since sliced bread, but that I actually have a lot to learn and grow in. I challenge you each to try to work out these verse in your own lives:

1 Timothy 4:8-16 (New International Version)

8For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
9This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance 10(and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.
11Command and teach these things. 12Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. 13Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 14Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you.
15Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

Wow, it sounds like God has really been working in you. He has in me a LOOOOOT recently as well. Isn't He great? He does not leave us where we are, even though we may like where we are, but He brings us closer to Him.

I like the verses you chose. My most recent Bible reading has been in Job (besides the usual Psalms and Proverbs). It's very interesting to see what the friends' advice was, and how wrong they turned out to be...

Thanks for updating!

God bless,
Allegra

Jonathan,

You are an inspiration. I've been out of college for years, and I didn't graduate until I was 30. I wish that I had had your faith and belief when I was in college. It might have been easier.

Keep praying, believing, and writing. Chuck Norris recommended your blog on WND. I can see why. Thank you so much for giving me a better perspective on my faith.

Sincerely,

Jinger Jarrett
